Sichuan Nutrient @ Z.G.M. Ramen, Jalan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur

March seems to convey brought inwards the pelting (hopefully non from Spain) inwards bucketloads. Every day, it is weird Gemini-like weather that can't create upward one's heed what it'll similar to be. One infinitesimal it is crazy oestrus amongst the brilliant sunshine, the next we larn greeted amongst a heavy downpour. All this slightly chilly weather kicks off an urge to consume foods such every bit steamboat, double boiled soups or hot spicy Sichuan food.
Even though I don't become ape crazy over adding bird-eye chillies to all of my food, I produce appreciate on occasion, the adept sometime ho-hum burn downwards from chillies in addition to Sichuan peppercorns. With Sichuan food, my senses tingle in addition to the natural language goes numb similar it had striking an electrical current.
Recently, I was introduced to this house across from the iconic Sakura, where the kitchen is ruled past times chefs from Mainland China. Even though it proclaims to endure a ramen place, it genuinely serves authentic Sichuan nutrient in addition to handmade noodles. The nutrient here feels a piffling milder than other Sichuan restaurants I've tasted earlier but it is withal really enjoyable in addition to addictive.
My favourite dish was the poached fish fillet inwards hot chilli crude oil (RM38 for small) - tender fish fillet pieces served amongst a Sichuan peppercorn laden soup amongst cabbage in addition to kangkung that burned in addition to numbed my tongue. Another large favourite was the Sichuan Dan Dan noodles (RM10 for large) since they role the knife cutting noodles, which gives it a slightly chewy texture. I genuinely enjoyed the noodles including the thick ones served with a braised chicken potatoes dish (RM8 for small) packed amongst spices (we spied dark cardamom pods, star anise, Sichuan peppercorns, chillies). Thumbs upward to the mutual frigidity dishes similar the chicken inwards chilli sauce (RM16), crunchy pickled vegetables (RM10) and the sinful pork belly slices (RM15). While virtually items are of the Sichuan genre, the sauteed lamb amongst cumin (RM30) had a familiar Indian aroma from the cumin spice.
The house is non large on desserts amongst a choice of 2 types of sweet rice vino soup - i amongst viscid rice balls (RM5)  and roughly other with stirred amongst egg (RM6). The dessert has a really faint odor of the rice vino but nosotros welcomed its slightly fermented sense of savor that helps refresh the palate. While the viscid rice balls tasted fine, the egg drib version felt a piffling weird since my tastebuds associate it to a greater extent than to a savoury soup.
Thanks to Justin for introducing my tastebuds to this hidden gem. Now I can't halt craving for this variety of food, whenever it pours.
