It's mid-week together with I'm singing the Jelly blues. 


Work has caught upward amongst me. 


With all that stress, the greyness encephalon cells can't seem to mean value upward an inspiring idea.

 Apologies but today is a rather lame entry that looks similar a roti canai Get Your Jelly On! Day 12 - French Cone (French Toast amongst Caramel Apples) 


Inspired past times the carte du jour on Ben's General Food Store (that started serving brekkie), I decided to brand the French Cone (nope it ain't a cap). Per the menu, it described their breakfast especial to locomote made from a rich Bavarian loaf. This was rather elementary to larn from the adjacent door deli. 


However making it into a cone was a large challenge. If I used the side crusts to practise the exterior wall, it industrial plant perfectly but since the loaf was originally a chip on the deeper dark-brown side, it comes out an unappealing darker shade of brown. 


I experimented amongst the within of the loaf but this instead gave it an appearance similar dimpled roti canai from the eggy mixture. I approximate I simply could non win this battle. Despite its ramshackle look, it tasted rather alright amongst the caramel apples I had too made. A chip on the sweeter side but I approximate that's the freedom you lot pay amongst caramel sauces. Since I'm non much of a morning time person, it was rather dainty to sit down downward to a "morning" repast at night. Hopefully I'll milk shiver out of my mid calendar week blues or else the challenge is going to larn rather (yawn) boring. 


French Toast amongst Caramel Apples 


1 bavarian loaf or croissant 
2 eggs
50ml milk 
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 


1 greenish apple, sliced together with cored 
50g caster sugar 
20g butter 
3 tablespoons cream


Beat eggs, milk together with vanilla together. Dip slices of the loaf amongst egg mixture. Stuff into the Royal Selangor pewter mould amongst the crust facing outwards. Press downward to shape a cone. Use a knife to loosen it out. Pan-fry it on a hot frying pan until all the sides are slightly brown.


Melt carbohydrate inwards a build clean pot. Once it turns into caramel, add together butter to melt. Add apples together with laid till soften.  Add cream simply earlier serving.


To serve: Place caramel apples on a plate. Top amongst the French Cone together with serve immediately
